WHAT IS UKAS?
UKAS is the United Kingdom Accreditation Service.
UKAS accredits calibration or testing laboratories to ensure that their measurements are traceable to national standards held by the National Physical Laboratory or other national laboratories.
If your company holds ISO 9000 certification your quality system must demonstrate that your density standards are traceable. The best way to do this is to ensure that the data originates from a density laboratory holding UKAS accreditation for the calibrations in question.
UKAS reports and certificates are widely accepted throughout the world.
